An enhanced Benefit Provider Program was uniquely designed for members only. The program provides tangible practice benefits with discounted products and services that, when utilized, far exceed the cost of annual dues.
Quarterly publication, The Bulletin:
The Bulletin, the official publication of the HCMA, keeps members informed with our progressive medical community by presenting editorials and advertisers in a pleasing and stimulating fashion.
If you want to expand your practice or make a move, the HCMA can assist. Members can post information when needing a physician, seeking out a practice, or when moving to a new location, on the HCMA website at no cost. Members can also advertise their practices and include a link to their websites for an annual fee of $150.
Educational Seminars & Workshops:
Seminars and workshops, including CME’s, are available for members and their office staff at no charge. Most seminars are held at the HCMA headquarters in the evening.
HCMA Health Insurance Co-Op:
The plan, created by physicians for physicians, is fully insured by Florida Blue and has operated since 1981. It provides affordable health insurance to physicians, their employees, and their families. The plan realizes significant savings through a trust where any surplus offsets future rate increases.
Healthcare Attorney On-Call Program:
Members receive free legal advice through the Healthcare Attorney On-Call Program. You will receive a return call by noon of the next business day from a Florida healthcare attorney and receive up to fifteen minutes of free legal advice.
One of the most valuable benefits of membership is legislative advocacy which begins here at the local level. The HCMA’s Government Affairs Committee consists of sixteen members who provide legislative efforts that empower members in the legislative arena, and who maintain beneficial relationships with the Hillsborough County Legislative Delegation consisting of thirteen Representatives. In addition, twenty HCMA Delegates serve as your voice, representing members at the FMA Annual Meeting where resolutions are developed and policies are formed.
Mailing Labels & Member Communication:
Whether you are marketing an event or changing your office location, if you need to communicate with an entire referral network at once, HCMA will send a blast email to all members on your behalf for the low cost of $95. Mailing labels can also be purchased for $50.
Membership Dinners & Networking Events:
HCMA quarterly membership dinners offer camaraderie among colleagues, an opportunity to visit medically related vendors, and provide a variety of interesting and informative speakers. There is no cost for members to attend HCMA’s quarterly dinners or other networking events throughout the year.
The HCMA membership directory is a go-to source for referrals. All Active and Life members are posted by their medical specialty, including office address, phone and fax numbers, the medical school they attended, and any board certifications. Members receive a copy of the directory at no cost. Advertising opportunities are also available to further market your practice.
Physician Wellness Program:
The HCMA Physician Wellness Program is a fully funded program designed to address the seriousness of physician burnout and the importance of work/life balance. The program provides valuable resources for all members including completely confidential, convenient, complimentary access to professional psychological services.
Members can join the HCMA Referral Service for a minimal cost of $35 per year. The HCMA website is also an excellent go-to source for the public in finding physicians.
